We caught up with Linda to get an idea on what kickstarted her vision and creations at Out Of The Closet Hangers. Here’s what she had to say;
1. What was the inspiration behind the company?
I had purchased some padded hangers from a store. They reminded me of cheap lingerie and I always kept them in the back of my closet. I wanted something special for my favorite clothes.
I learned how to sew at a very early age and knew I could make a prettier hanger. Inspired by a lovely red woven toile, I set to work creating my own hangers. I was thrilled with the results. I gathered a selection of beautiful fabrics and ribbons and I gifted my creations to family and friends for Mother’s Day, bridal showers, and baby gifts. The recipients encouraged me to offer them to the public.
My son assisted me with branding and web design and Out of the Closet Hangers was created in 2010. [OOTCH is the acronym of Out of the Closet Hangers]
I’m always on the lookout for different vintage or high end fabrics to create variety and appeal in my shop. Each hanger is individually handcrafted to ensure a high quality product.

2. Why the name, Out of the Closet?
My friends said that my hangers were too pretty to keep in a closet. I liked the play on words, because I wanted to create hangers that were a decorative accent.
3. Where do you ship too?
I have customers around the globe.
4. What are the price ranges of your hangers?
I offer adult, infant, and bridal hangers. Prices range from $10.00 per hanger. Custom creations are individually quoted. Gift tags are available as an option.
5. Will you be expanding as a company to other things other than hangers?
I never planned to be in the fashion hanger business, so I may expand the business if I find a market need that inspires me.
