REVIEW: Zoom Teeth Whitening/ Corner House Dental Practice

July 25th, 2012 / Stephane

Recently one of the Milk & Honey squad went to try out the new craze, that is Zoom teeth whitening. Corner House Dental Practice, based in Surbiton, Surrey is about a 20 minute train ride from London Waterloo or 15 mins away from Clapham Junction.

With the Zoom Treatment at just £199 for a limited time only! It was a deal we weren’t going to miss out on! Here’s how it went…

“I’d always been curious about the hype and told success of the procedure of Zoom Whitening. I had attempted a home whitening kit back at university, but it seemed to have done more damage than good. So I came across the £199 sign advertised outside the practice and thought, “Hey why not try this out!”.

In order to get approved for the treatment, I first had to have a consultation with the dentist, Dr. Wasey Habib before he would agree to carrying out the procedure. On first glance it was evident that the treatment at this practice would be stellar. With a flat plasma TV screen in the waiting room and a choice of hot or cold drinks and biscuits at your disposal, it really put me at ease before going in.

I then had to fill out a form outlining all of my dental history, which was later passed on to the dentist. After my consultation I was booked in and ready to go for the procedure! Exciting times.

Back for the second time… I was asked to sign a Zoom consent form which stated that I was fully aware of the risks, that if I had any fake teeth, these would not be whitened and warn you that you may not get the results you desire too. No false promises!

Dr. Habib told me to bring a DVD of my choice to watch during the procedure. I brought ‘Life’, starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence (bad choice as I was laughing during the procedure hysterically). He talked me through each step and informed me that a mouth guard would be put in my mouth, alongside a protective gel that would stop the whitening substance from going anywhere other than on to my teeth! In three 20 minute sessions we had come to completion and the deed was done!

The moment of truth. At first it was evident the front few teeth were very bright and the sides slightly darker. As I observed it more and more it also appeared to be quite patchy in areas. I wasn’t completely happy but could certainly see the difference.

I was warned away from drinking coffee in the first 24 hours to really allow the treatment to work it’s magic.

Within a week of the procedure a nice smooth colour began to appear and settle and a clear difference in shades was now visible! I had to wait a few days too see the Zoom effect!

Overall, Dr. Habib  and his dental team were amazing. They made me feel comfortable throughout and were extremely accommodating.

The offer still stands for new patients at just £199 so jump on board dolls. You won’t be disappointed. I know I will be back in 6 months for round two!”
